Training
Allied Healthcare are fully committed in to ensuring that all of our staff receive comprehensive training to carry out their specified job role within the company to the highest standards attainable. All training is delivered by an in house training team of Trainers who have a wealth of experience within the care sector and will ensure that the delivery of both mandatory and specialist courses meets and exceeds the standards of the sector. Allied Healthcare values its staff and is committed to the continual professional development of all its employees.
All new recruits to the business will undergo a comprehensive Mandatory induction programme and all training that is offered to our staff is completely free of charge to the individual.
Mandatory training that all workers can expect to receive is as follows:
- Company Overview and Induction
- Your role within the business
- Common Induction Standards
- First Aid and Life Support
New recruits to the care industry and/or Allied Healthcare also receive training on:
- The organisation, Allied Healthcare, for which they are working
- Terms and conditions of employment
- Policies and procedures of the organisation
Wherever there is a need for specialised training, this is further provided by our in-house “specialist training team” or where appropriate, by expert external providers. We have in addition developed good partnership working with Social Services and have participated in many training forums and development groups with them, to deliver relevant modules.
For Service Users with complex needs all staff must already have received the required mandatory training and experience in a healthcare / homecare setting. Specialist training is given, as it is our responsibility to ensure care staff have the ability, competence and confidence to carry out all duties within each individual complex care package. The management of complex needs will be met by specialist training as identified by the Branch Manager for the particular Care Worker allocated to the Service User.
Further Qualification Routes
Allied Healthcare has signed the Skills Pledge with the Government and is committed to ensuring that the learner journey does not end at Induction and Specialist Training. To this end further qualifications are available and Allied Healthcare have obtained government funding to achieve this important career step for our employees.
You can gain a Vocational Qualification which is free of charge to you, (and is a requirement when working in the care sector). A numeracy and literacy programme is also available to you free of charge. Both qualifications will not only be beneficial to you but also for your future career prospects. All qualifications on offer are fully accredited and meet the national minimum standards.
What support can you expect during your training?
Every individual is supported in their learning by close monitoring, observation and assessment in the classroom, by our trainers.
Further to classroom based training, all workers are also given the opportunity to complete a period of shadowing as part of their induction. This involves attending shadow shifts with one of our more experienced care workers, again allowing you to grow in confidence in the role, before delivering care yourself.
Once you have undergone your induction training you will be given a workbook which a keeps record of all the training you have completed and also is evidence that you have successfully understood all the topics covered during your training. After all these are completed you will be awarded a training certificate, and any other awards that you achieve while with Allied will also be added to your portfolio as a part of your ongoing career development and achievements.
